Engineers don't understand things like "feelings" or "emotions"

I’m not religious at all, but in a metaphorical way I pray for a world where nobody has to pray for a living wage.

Or pray at all, I guess.

"Almost everyone is musical. Music is an actual bodily need. Another saying goes ‘If something is worth doing, it is worth doing well,’ but I disagree. Like Chesterton, I feel that if something is worth doing, it is worth doing even badly. Playing the piano is not something to be graded. Adults should take it up the moment they feel the need to play music. As a matter of course, children should be given lessons without pressure. Playing the piano should be an act without material value. It must be a road of discovery, a trackless territory, and never a means of showing off. The piano won’t serve the ego’s craving for recognition."

Homeopathy is a sham. Once the prevailing body of scientific evidence demonstrates that something has no medicinal value, we should really disallow it to be sold as having medicinal value, unless significant clinical evidence shows cause to reconsider.
Simply:
1. If something is shown not to be effective by a large body of well-researched scientific evidence, you should not be allowed to market it to the general public as being effective at all.
2. This should only change if, at some later point, a very large body of well-researched scientific evidence demonstrates that the original conclusion was wrong.

I wish I didn’t have such a hard time concentrating all the time.

I went on a huge rant about Laffer curves today and why they are basically meaningless.
I should really write up something formal about it, because I kept discovering new problems as I thought about it.

 • Leslie: Oh, it's my dad's birthday, I'd better e-mail him!
 • Me: How old is he?
 • Leslie: Um, he's 58.
 • Me: Oh! Tell him that his age's prime decomposition contains exactly two primes, 2 and 29!
 • Leslie: I love you so much.

I’m 28 years old and I still feel like I only just graduated from college.
